The short version
We give you full control over cookies. When you first visit DAPITA, a banner asks for your consent across 4 categories. Necessary cookies are always on โ without them the site won't function. Everything else is opt-in.
Change your choices anytime via the Cookie preferences link in our footer.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data stored by your browser. Cookies allow a website to remember things โ that you're logged in, that you chose dark mode, that you preferred Spanish. We also use localStorage, which works similarly but stores data only on your device.
The 4 categories we use
Required for the site to function โ session, security, basic preferences. These cannot be disabled. Includes the cookie-consent record itself (so we don't show the banner every time), session identifiers for our products that require login, and CSRF protection tokens. No consent required under UK GDPR / PECR.
Anonymous usage statistics so we understand which pages help and which need work. We measure page views, navigation paths, time on page, and broad geographic region. We do not track individuals across sites. Disabled by default โ you must opt in.
Used to show relevant ads on other sites and measure campaign effectiveness. Helps us understand which advertising channels reach the right businesses. Disabled by default โ you must opt in.
Remember your theme (dark / light / auto), language, and other choices across sessions. If you disable this category, the site still works but reverts to defaults each visit.
How to manage your preferences
You have three ways to control cookies on DAPITA:
- On first visit โ the cookie banner offers three options: Accept all, Reject all, or Customize each category individually.
- Anytime later โ click Cookie preferences in the footer (under Legal) to reopen the customization modal.
- In your browser โ clear cookies via your browser's settings. This will reset your consent and we will ask again on next visit.
Your choice is stored in localStorage["dapita_cookies_v1"] on your device as a JSON record with a timestamp. This data never leaves your browser.
What our products do
DAPITA Auth (auth.dapita.net)
When you sign in, DAPITA Auth sets a session cookie containing a randomly generated session ID. It is strictly necessary โ no session cookie means no login. The cookie is HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax.
DAPITA BaaS, Algo, Security (subdomains)
Logged-in dashboards use the session from DAPITA Auth. The public landing pages of these products follow the same 4-category consent policy as dapita.net.
DAPITA Core
Core is self-hosted on your server. We do not control or have visibility into cookies set by your Core installation โ cookie behaviour is configured by you, the operator. You should publish your own cookie policy for any public-facing site you build on Core.
Third parties
We may use third-party services (analytics, advertising platforms) if you opt in to the corresponding category. When this happens, those services may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We list active third parties below โ this list is updated whenever a new service is added:
- Currently: none. We are pre-launch and not yet using any third-party analytics or advertising services.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies, change categories, or onboard new third-party services, we will update this page and present the consent banner again so you can review and re-decide. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent version.
